Ibisha and Virtua joined?

This week saw a dramatic proposition by Alecto, the president of Ibisha. Alecto said that he would support the idea of Ibisha being joined to another country in some way or another (see the “Future of Ibisha” topic in the “Palacio Presidencial de Ibisha” club for details). Alecto said that if Ibisha were to be joined, it would be Digitalia or Virtua, but not Cyberia (reasons yet unknown).

This created an interesting idea, what would it be like for Ibisha to be merged with Virtua?

There have been supporters of the merge from both countries, who say that it would revitalise the chat and trading of both countries. Some of the citizens of Ibisha have said that chat has gotten so slow, you can log in hours later and still read the exact same conversation as when you logged out. It has also been said that citizens of Ibisha have gotten to the point where they log in, refill their shops, read the clubs, and log out again as they do not expect a conversation in chat anyway.

Some have even suggested that Ibisha and Virtua could have a shared chat area, which would allow both the Ibishan and Virtuan citizens to co-ordinate and also to have a conversation while business is slow. There has also been the suggestion of a bridge being built between Virtua and Ibisha, using exported materials from the mayor warehouses. The mechanics of such an idea are unknown, and there have so far been no comments by the Federals as to the possibility of such ideas.

Critics of the merge say that it will destroy the Ibishan identity as an essentially Spanish city, especially if the chats are merged, as only an English chat room is available here. They also say that Ibisha’s resources would have to be overhauled, so as to not make it the obvious city of choice for Virtuan resource diggers.

As well as this, tensions between Virtua and Ibisha have been strained recently by the buying up of Ibishan resources by Loop MV and Ibi Wood MV, owned by Refund and Bleech, respectively.

The idea of a joint Virtua and Ibisha remains despite this, but the questions we need to ask are what the benefits of such a merge are, and whether it would even be possible.

Week overview day 6/21

The start to the week has been a busy one, and has created many hectic situations. Indeed, up until a few hours before the round began, there was still no Iron trader who had stepped forward. Thankfully, Primetimer, having seen the situation, volunteered to change to Iron from Bricks to fill the gap. This, in turn, led to Forsties switching from his initial products of Computers, Machines and Screwdrivers to Bricks and Clay, to fill the vacancy Primetimer had left behind.

The Federals decided to appoint new Assistants after multiple requests and Applications from the players of Virtua. (Brendan)’s Assistant degree was renewed and Forsties and dj ricky were given the role to replace some of the no-longer active players who had been assistants before.

Refund and natcha12 chose their Consuls early in the round, and the choices were:

  • (Brendan) – Consul of Education (CoE)
  • MoonPoker – Consul of Finance (CoF)
  • Forsties – Consul of Justice and Safety (CoJS)

This round has also seen the return of a few older traders, namely Splodge and Spainman0, as well as some new arrivals. However, the winner of last round’s “Best New Trader” award, twistedmaniac, was nowhere to be seen for the first few days, showing up later only to be robbed multiple times (perpetrator unknown so far).

The Consul of Finance, MoonPoker,  was fired after a lengthy arguement with Andoversr about city budgets, and decided to bankrupt himself.

Andoversr was bankrupted by Bleech and Triad Best Main (they claim Triad Best Main fired the final shot), meaning that a mid-round election had to be set up. gelaarsdekat won the election after a council vote had to be set up (due to the initial election resulting in a tie between him and bell_1996). Bleech also claims to be behind the shooting of Aynrand.

Refund and Primetimer both moved from Cashington to Nasdaqar, meaning the shares in NSQ rose dramatically, while those in Cashington dropped significantly.

There were a lack of officers at the beginning of the round, as all of the players with officer degrees were either unable, unwilling or too inactive for the role. Luckily, a few players, namely Primetimer and Ronald, stepped up to the role after a few days.

Once again, an Ore MV was set up by Rednax (Royal Ore MV) in co-operation with an Iron MV set up by Peckkoo (NSQ Ij MV). However, Primetimer claims to have fully boxed in Royal Ore MV for the moment.

Harbours are likely to appear soon, as arrangements for selling the lot in Centropolis and Nasdaqar were announced. The Harbour lot in Cashington was claimed by Zoe gek wie sjek, a player from Ibisha when Andoversr was bankrupted, and it’s future is so far unknown.

Good Luck to all the Virtuan Traders in the Weeks to come!

Andoversr and MoonPoker

It was a problematic time for Cashington at the start of the round, as Andoversr began what was to become a controversial time as mayor. The volume of exports set up were such that Cashington had a negative budget a large amount of the time. Supporters of Andoversr said that this would stimulate trade, whereas critics said that it was crippling the city, and national, budget. This sparked an arguement between Andoversr and MoonPoker (among others), the then-Consul of Finance, as Andoversr claimed that MoonPoker was deliberately withholding budget from the cities that required it, whereas MoonPoker argued that his budget plan didn’t specifically leave money open for the large amounts of spending Andoversr was doing.

This led to Refund, our president, taking the decision to ask MoonPoker to step down as Consul of Finance, as he was not giving cities the money they needed. Seeing this, MoonPoker stepped down as Consul and Bankrupted himself, claiming that if the Council did not trust him, there was no point wasting PM days. He also claimed that MoonPoker would start the next round as an Ibishan.

Andoversr himself was bankrupted shortly after by Bleech and Triad Best Main (or so they claim). gelaarsdekat was promoted to interim mayor, and after a close election, was chosen to continue his duties as the official mayor of Cashington. Hopefully this is the last problem the city will need to go through, as the City has certainly had it’s fair share of controversy this round.

Vnews Late!

Although the first edition of Vnews was due to come out today, problems the editors had have slowed down it’s publishing.

The first edition should be ready by Friday, or Saturday at the latest. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Chip Shortages rock Virtua

Chips have recently become scarce throughout Virtua. Electronic traders everywhere have been hit hard, and PCs are becoming a rarer and rarer export for mayors to get hold of. It appears that the Gold in Nasdaqar has all but run out due to large amounts of digging by NSQ residents and some foreign MVs, leading to chip makers not having the materials to create this vital product.

Some traders have gone so far as to buy FES chips until a source of chips can be found in order to keep with demand, and the FES stores have begun to drain empty of chips because of this. If the shortages continue, traders may have to source chips from other countries and lose profits, and increases in electronics prices will be likely, which creates a new set of problems in itself, especially with tourists, which are often the biggest customers of electronic traders.

Our resident chip seller, Gean Starwind, has filled his stores with trees to replace his chips, which is at least good for mayors who were looking for trees to be exported, especially in Cashington, where lot condition is a constant problem and rarely stays over 93. However, hopefully a source of gold will be found soon, whether it be a player or an MV, which will allow Gean Starwind to once again sell the chips which many traders rely on for their products. Until then however, electronics are going to be a difficult set of products to get hold of.

Virtua General(Short) R111 Day 12/21

The life in Virtua have been going on since Naters disappearance. Some problems have been solved, other problems is still a big question.

A lot of cases have been running in Virtua Court, one of the most ‘spectacular’ cases is Bleech accusing Andoversr of hiring him, a criminal, as judge in the court which is NOT allowed. Andoversr is keep saying that he was making a typo-mistake, but was it just that? Also Minimized(A Digitalian) is accused in our court, as on of MoonPoker’s Bylaws have disabled our law saying that only Virtuans can sue other Virtuans in our Virtua Court.

Virtua have also been lacking in the amount of available chips the last days(Chech the Article by Forsties for more information).

Lastest news have been that Andoversr have been requesting some discussion about Rokta’s job as Mayor of Nasdaqar, as he according to Andoversr have not been doing his job according to the Mayor Manual.

What has become of Nater?

During the middle of this week, people began asking questions as to the supposed disappearance of our beloved Vice President and Consul of Finance, Nater. But what has happened to him?

Many of the citizens of Virtua have attempted to make contact with him, with Dj Ricky going as far as to email him (no reply as of the time this was written), and some have seen him in other online games, but so far nobody has managed to hear his story behind his absence. Many citizens have wondered why Nater would leave Miniconomy without notice, but some of our more experienced players have noted that something similar happened in round 104, with Nater returning midway through round 108 (only to be bankrupted shortly after). Others have suggested real life problems affecting Nater, but nobody can be sure.

The repercussions of Nater’s absence were felt most strongly by traders at first, as there was little gas to be found in Virtua for most of Tuesday, but also by the Mayors of Virtua, as no budgets could be given out, leading to a nationwide shortage of exports and buildings. Lot conditions became a worry, especially in Cashington and Centropolis, as these cities have the most resident resource diggers. It is likely other areas will be obstructed by Nater’s absence, notably the International court, as Nater is the Chairman there, as well as our National Archives, and also Nater’s own project, the “Case Records Office.”

Multiple gas traders have come forward since Nater’s disappearance, as well as a Monument in memorial of our Vice President erected by Mystq, the mayor of Centropolis, and Refund has been reassigned as the temporary Consul of Finance, sparking some controversy, so all of the most pressing problems for Virtua have been solved, and life seems to be returning to normal for its citizens. One question remains though; Will we be seeing Nater return to Virtua soon, if at all?

Virtua General R111 5/21

Welcome to another round in Virtua.

The first day started out a bit slow, since we did not have a wood trader the first hour, but the new player Twistedmaniac had talked about doing wood, and he did when he came online.

The first two days went fast but there was wood problems sometimes, but most of the time Virtua was well supplied with all resources.

However everything went wrong after Nater left and we was missing Gas for several hours, not only was he the only gas trader, but he was also the Vice President, CoF and the IC Chairman.

We had cities without budget for for more then 24 hours and it left a few scares on our economy.

Our trade went back to normal after Twistedmaniac made a gas mv, which could fill the gap after Nater left us.

Bleech was fired doing the first day for having overlook a part of our lawbook, which didn’t allow him to perform crimes, sadly he learned it the hard way and was fired for hitting someone with a plank.

Cyberians has been invading Virtua with MV’s based in Nasdaqar & Cashington, Bleech said in chat that it was to get the trade going in NSQ, however many seems to think otherwise.

Our own President MoonPoker came in troubles after missing a new addition to our law book, since only allowed either the President or Vice-President to have another Council title, that meant he have been breaking the law since day 1 without even noticing it himself…

Virtua court has been busy with 6 cases, which meant that Forsties, Dj Ricky and Refund have been working 24/7 to make verdicts.

To sum up, our VP left without notice, Trade had a few problems but overcame them, Cyberians invading Virtua with MVs.

Virtua, End of round 110

Round 110 has bought many fun things and the trade has been flowing and we haven’t really experienced the problems from earlier rounds with slow or no trade in a long time.

However Nasdaqar was a bit dead doing the first week, but there came more activity in the second week.

It has been clear in virtua that many of the basic products were covered by few, and it gave some problems.

Wood was hard to get in Centropolis some days and the same went for Iron.

Following players was on the basic in round 110 in Virtua.

Wood: MoonPoker and Aqib

Iron: Felix D and Refund

Bricks: Nater and Mystq

Plastic: gelaarsdekat and Refunds MV.

Our President doing the whole round has been (Brendan) and Nater was our Vice President.

Refund as CoF, he faced challenges this round with two active cities and one that was less active, it was also this round that playermanager was made public.

Centropolis with natcha12 as mayor has been burning through money and it was clear that with their 96 “active” players that they would need more than the rest. Natcha12 did a good job as mayor of Centropolis, though he and refund had their clashes about the budgets.

Cashington with Forsties as mayor did a really good job and through Cashington had bought Iron and Brick traders, Forsties managed to keep the lot state close to 100 most of the time. Cashington has a few problems with the budget the first couple of days but was quickly solved.

Nasdaqar with Rokta as mayor had a rough couple of days in the start with 1-3 active traders, which meant that it was close to a ghost town, however it seemed that trade picked up after both Refund and MoonPoker moved there, and stores was built. Nasdaqar never had budget problems and enjoyed the life of being the rich city in Virtua.

There has been close to no crimes in virtua, a few small traders tried the way of being criminal, and some had more luck than others.

As a closure, it seems it has been a good round and we hope to see a few of our traders in top 25.
